About me
Carolina Keller
With many years of professional experience in occupational therapy, as well as extensive expertise in the German healthcare system and in pedagogical institutions for children, I offer targeted support through various concepts. My goal is to help children develop their skills and promote their independence in all areas of life.
I work with children and their families and also support international patients in Germany. Additionally, I cooperate with international schools. Treatments are available in German, English, and Spanish.
Therapy sessions are available one-on-one or in small groups – with or without my loyal Golden Retriever Ike – and are offered to private patients and self-payers.
Voices of Parents & Partners
Experiences and feedback from our therapeutic work.
Our child very quickly built trust with Mrs. Keller and always looks forward to the appointments. Mrs. Keller finds exactly the right impulses to introduce our child to seemingly difficult tasks in a curious and brave manner. We especially appreciate that she assesses a child's development with great empathy, yet in a clear and structured way – without judging or comparing.
Her positive attitude is reflected in everything: She doesn't just see the need for support, she sees the progress, names it clearly, and thereby strengthens the child's self-confidence. Instead of constantly focusing on deficits, she works in a solution-oriented way and builds up our child's self-esteem.
As parents, we also feel very well supported by Mrs. Keller. Through her suggestions and discussions, we have received many valuable ideas on how we can better support our child in everyday life. After a short time, we were able to observe significant progress – our child is more confident, tries new things, and enjoys their own development. We are very grateful for the wonderful guidance from Mrs. Keller and can recommend her from the bottom of our hearts.
“I would like to express my gratitude to Mrs. Keller. My son was in treatment with her, and I was able to observe many positive changes in him. Due to her extensive experience with children, Mrs. Keller managed to build a great connection with him from the very beginning and make him feel that he was in good hands. He always enjoyed going to his appointments – also because she worked on his motor skills with varied exercises. I was particularly impressed by Mrs. Keller's positive and supportive nature. She addresses weaknesses in a way that is not hurtful. She always encouraged my son to go beyond his limits and gave him the feeling that he can achieve anything if he just practices enough. This also boosted his self-confidence. I can highly recommend Mrs. Keller and would definitely turn to her again if needed.”
“In my institution, the psychomotor skills program offered by Carolina Keller is highly valued thanks to her competent work and her empathy. She always manages to inspire the children with her creative activities and her humorous nature. I particularly appreciate that she addresses the individual needs of every child, including children with disabilities.”

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Find clear and helpful answers to the most common questions about our occupational therapy practice.
Do patients also travel to you from Neu-Anspach, Wehrheim, or other municipalities in the Hochtaunuskreis?
Yes, our practice is conveniently located in Usingen. Many of our families and patients travel to us from surrounding areas such as Neu-Anspach, Wehrheim, Schmitten, Bad Homburg, Kronberg, Königstein, and Oberursel. Because we offer highly specialized pediatric occupational therapy and animal-assisted therapy, parents are happy to make the short journey. The practice is easily accessible with convenient parking directly in front of the door.
Do I need a doctor's prescription for occupational therapy?
Yes, as a rule, occupational therapy is based on a medical prescription, which can be issued by pediatricians, general practitioners, or specialists. However, since Carolina Keller also holds a state license as a Sektoraler Heilpraktiker for Occupational Therapy, treatment is also available directly without a prescription as a private service upon request.
Do private health insurance or aid programs (Beihilfe) cover the costs?
Yes, private health insurance companies and state aid programs (Beihilfe) generally reimburse the costs of occupational therapy in full or in part, depending on your individual policy. We bill based on the official fee schedule for therapists (GebüTh) via a signed fee agreement. We recommend checking with your provider before starting therapy.
What does the additional qualification "Sectoral Heilpraktiker for Occupational Therapy" mean?
This state license authorizes us to diagnose and treat patients in the field of occupational therapy directly—without a prior doctor's visit or prescription. This saves you waiting time at the doctor's office and allows for immediate treatment entry as a self-paid service.
For which developmental areas and from what age is occupational therapy useful?
We treat children from toddlerhood through adolescence. Occupational therapy is particularly beneficial for developmental delays, motor challenges (fine, gross, and graphomotor skills), concentration and attention issues (such as ADHD), sensory integration disorders, or difficulties with daily independence.
How is therapy dog Ike integrated, and what applies in case of fears or allergies?
Our certified Golden Retriever Ike is integrated selectively to boost motivation, emotional security, and confidence. Participation is fully voluntary. If your child is afraid of dogs or has an allergy, therapy is naturally conducted in dog-free rooms. Ike's well-being and your child's safety are always our top priorities.
In which languages can the therapy sessions be conducted?
To best accommodate international families and school collaborations, we offer all occupational consultations and therapies in three languages: German, English, and Spanish.
Do you also bill statutory health insurance (GKV)?
No, we work exclusively on a private basis. Our practice is directed solely at privately insured patients and self-payers. Statutorily insured patients are welcome to receive treatment as self-payers.
Can I just spontaneously drop by the practice to ask questions?
Please do not drop by the practice spontaneously without a scheduled appointment. During the day, we are in active therapy sessions fully dedicated to the children, or the practice may be temporarily closed. This prevents you from finding the doors locked. Instead, please use our contact form or book a convenient online get-to-know meeting via video call, where we can dedicate ample time to your inquiries.
Do you also treat adult patients?
No, Carolina Keller is completely specialized and focused on pediatric occupational therapy (child therapy). We therefore exclusively treat infants, toddlers, school-aged children, and adolescents. Unfortunately, we cannot accept adult patients.
