Medical Prescription

Occupational therapy is usually based on a doctor's prescription. However, since I also hold the state license as a Sektoraler Heilpraktiker for Occupational Therapy in Hesse, I am fully authorized to provide treatments directly without a doctor's prescription as a private-pay service if desired.

✍️

Fee Agreement

Before therapy begins, a treatment contract (fee agreement) is concluded between the therapy practice and the private patient. In this contract, I commit to providing my defined therapeutic services, and the patient agrees to pay me the agreed price for the services rendered, regardless of reimbursement from private health insurance.

GebüTh Guideline: My fees are based on the official German fee schedule for therapists (GebüTh).

Reimbursement by Private Insurance

Private health insurance companies generally cover the costs of occupational therapy treatments, provided they are included in your insurance policy. You determine the exact amount of coverage at the start of your insurance policy.

State Medical Aid & Supplementary Tariffs

Patients eligible for state medical aid (Beihilfe) receive reimbursement according to the applicable regulations. This may result in partial reimbursement. Any remaining difference must be covered by you, unless you have supplementary insurance.

Reimbursement Issues? Your Rights in Case of Reductions

If your private insurance attempts to reduce reimbursement values without justification, we recommend filing a written objection. For unresolved disputes, you can contact an independent mediator (Ombudsmann) free of charge.
